Return to Defend Titles, Leading Star-Studded 50th Edition Field
Reigning champions, ATP world No. 3 Alexander Zverev and WTA star Ekaterina Makarova have committed to the 50th edition of the Washington tournament, alongside a stacked list of former champions and next generations players.
Alongside Zverev on the men's side, Aussie Nick Kyrgios and 2010 Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych return, in addition to our 2015 and 2016 semifinalist Stevie Johnson. Last year's breakout Yuki Bhambri, alongside our 2012 champion Alexandr Dolgopolov also join our thrilling field that includes: three-time Grandslam and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Champion, Andy Murray; three-time Citi Open finalist, John Isner; 2015 Champion, Kei Nishikori; 2017 Citi Open and US Open finalist, Kevin Anderson; World No. 9, David Goffin; 2018 Australian Open Semifinalist and ATP Next Gen Champion, Hyeon Chung; Youngest ATP top 30, Dennis Shapovalov; DC Native, Frances Tiafoe.
Joining the women's side is our 2014 Citi Open Champion and two-time Grand Slam Champion Svetlana Kuznetsova. In addition to World No. 2 Caroline Wozniacki and World No. 4 Sloane Stephens and 2018 Indian Wells Champion, Naomi Osaka.
